The July 13, 2011 Tragedy in Mumbai:

Libertyville, IL—July 6, 2011
Shahid Siddiqui

The Federation of Aligarh Alumni Associations (FAAA) of North America strongly condemns the tragic bombing in Mumbai on July 13, 2011 killing and injuring innocent civilians; FAAA expresses deep condolences and sympathies with the victims and their loving families, the wounded and their loved ones. Our heart goes to the people who have suffered both physically and emotionally and request the officials to catch the coward culprits and bring them to full justice.  This is most unfortunate at a time when there is a greater need for mutual understanding and upholding democratic values. Therefore, we appeal to all members of the Indian community to take this opportunity to reaffirm faith in sober reflection and urge them to remain calm and steadfast in overcoming voices of hatred, prejudice, bigotry and violence, and demonstrate to the terrorists that they cannot defeat the resolve of good Indians to live in peace and harmony and make India a nation worthy of emulation.

On behalf of the alma mater and well-wishers of Aligarh Muslim University in the USA, the FAAA wishes to express their solidarity with the peace loving fellow countrymen. The FAAA hope and pray for a better India and thank for the tenacity of Mumbai residents in forward looking resolve in such events of human catastrophe and tragedy.
